Marissa is a Master of Biology student at Lakehead University. She also completed her undergraduate degree at Lakehead (Honour’s Bachelor of Environmental Science) where she completed an Undergraduate Honours thesis in our lab, examining how the community composition of Thunder Bay baitshops compared with local fish communities.
Her research is focused on how energy flows through aquatic food webs. Specifically, Marissa is looking at trophic transfer efficiency in Lake Superior and the amount of spatial variability that is observed.
MSc thesis title: Spatial Variation in the Energy Pathways of Lake Superior Food Webs
